Ron,

I wanted to send you a little note to express another side to fishing. We have very few trees and even less water where we live so fishing
was one of the reasons we came south. I celebrated my 65th birthday by purchasing my "first" fishing license, then I went to buy a pole. So
many to choose from but the most expensive is not always the best! Then I was told I needed bait. Live worms to dead shrimp with plastics
tighabobs thrown in! You name it, you can find it! I almost forgot, I also needed a box to put everything in. That is why they call it a bait box!
Duh! No boat so I bought a chair. Next, I was told I had to carry my fishing license and ID on me at all times. I also had to buy a hat and rain
gear in case it started raining. Now can you imagine, me trying to carry my pole, bait box, chair, hat and rain gear plus my purse (remember
I had to have my license) and begin to look for a place to fish? When someone said you must look to see if it is a redfish, black drum,
flounder or trout and if that wasn't enough, it had to measure a certain length or you play catch and release. I'm still trying to get my hook in
the water! Well, I've been down south almost four months now and I finally made my way over to St. Jo's Island. You should have seen me,
carrying my chair, pole, bait and threw it in the water (the hook that is) and came up with nothing! So for now, I'll just read about all the good
fishing you write about in the Saltwater Angler and wish for another time to catch the big one. Hope you enjoyed this little fishing story.

Chris,

I enjoyed it very much and laughed my head off (not at you but with you). Keep on trying and don't forget, it is called FISHING not
CATCHING!
